Starting Salary : 30,000.00 per annum (Subject to review)

Location : Crawley, Gatwick RH6 0PA

Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week. Occasional weekend site work may be classed as overtime.

Start date : September 2027

About the team:

Join our supportive and inclusive team within CAFA, where you will work on projects that make a real difference to communities across the UK.

As part of our Structures Assessment Team based in Liverpool, York, Crawley or Cardiff, you'll have the opportunity to be part of a national team that undertakes the inspections and structural assessment of a wide variety of railway structures, from bridgescarrying trains over roads and waterways, to highway and footbridges crossing the railway, as well as station canopies and train sheds. These structures are part of the heritage of our country, and we need to ensure that they are safe to meet today's needs as well as tomorrow's.

What you will do:
Undertake numerical analysis and assessment calculations to determine the structural load carrying capacity of a variety of structures.
Propose strengthening and maintenance options.
Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition.
Develop innovative solutions to enhance inspection and technical capabilities.
Prepare technical drawings and reports. What you will bring:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, keen to learn and ready to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team.
Minimum 2:2 degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
Personal Track Safety (PTS) requirement.
Applicants must pass a PTS Medical for this role. Behavioural competencies
