Reeson Education are currently recruiting for a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Hanger Lane / Park Royal area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and academically strong Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping pupils develop their understanding and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work primarily with small groups of Year 6 pupils, supporting them in the lead-up to their SATs. The role will focus on consolidating learning, addressing gaps in knowledge and helping pupils build confidence across the curriculum.
The ideal candidate will:
Have a strong grasp of both Maths and English
Have previous experience working with primary-aged children
Be confident supporting Year 6 pupils
Be able to explain concepts clearly and adapt explanations to individual pupils
Have experience supporting small groups or one-to-one
Be enthusiastic about helping children make academic progress
Have a positive, patient and encouraging approach
Be confident working alongside the class teacher to support pupils' learning
About the role:
Supporting small groups of Year 6 pupils
Helping pupils consolidate their Maths and English knowledge
Preparing pupils for their SATs
Identifying areas where pupils may need additional support
Reinforcing key concepts and building confidence
Working closely with the class teacher to support academic progress
This is not a SEN-focused position. The emphasis is on academic support and SATs preparation, so a strong knowledge of Maths and English is essential.
