Teacher of English (Full-Time)

BB18 area, Lancashire

After October Half-Term 2026 to July 2027

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established mainstream secondary school in the BB18 area of Lancashire to recruit a dedicated Teacher of English for a full-time long-term position.

This role will commence after October half-term 2026 and continue through to the end of the academic year, with full teaching responsibilities expected.

The Role:

The successful candidate will join a supportive English department and be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play an important role in helping students develop their literacy, analytical and communication skills while fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons.
Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress.
Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students.
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Attending departmental meetings, parents' evenings and school events.
Marking and assessment in line with school policy.
Undertaking all other responsibilities associated with a full teaching role.
The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management skills.
Passion for English and inspiring young people to achieve their potential.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
