How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant - SEN/SEMH Schools

    Chorley Area
    Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting Behaviour & Learning Support Assistants to work within a variety of SEN and SEMH schools across the Chorley area.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access education and reach their full potential.

    The Role:

    Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
    Supporting students both in and out of the classroom.
    Encouraging engagement, participation, and positive learning behaviours.
    Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
    Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model for young people.
    Working closely with teaching staff to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
    The Ideal Candidate:

    Experience working with children or young people within education, care, support work, sports coaching, youth work, or similar settings.
    A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
    Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
    A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
    SEN/SEMH experience is desirable but not essential.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
