Location: Office-based in Bishop's Stortford (with occasional client site visits)

Salary Guide: £35,000-£45,000 per annum (DOE)

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded Facilities Maintenance Account Manager to take ownership of key client relationships and support growth across a commercial building management and maintenance portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing and estimating new work accurately, managing contracts end-to-end, and building strong client relationships to maximize retention, satisfaction, and service standards.

Key responsibilities

Produce accurate pricing and estimates for new works, refurbishment projects, maintenance contracts, and ad hoc services.
Prepare proposals, bids and commercial submissions that reflect scope, risk, labour, materials and margin.
Develop and manage relationships with key client stakeholders across commercial building portfolios.
Coordinate with operations, engineering and site teams to ensure delivery meets contractual service levels and client expectations.
Conduct site visits and surveys to assess scope, identify improvements and validate estimates.
Monitor performance through KPIs, reporting, and regular client meetings; implement corrective actions as required.
Manage account budgets, forecasts and contribute to business development targets.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, regulatory standards and site-specific requirements.

Required skills and experience:

Proven track record in facilities management or building services account management for commercial properties.
Demonstrable experience pricing and estimating new work opportunities, preparing competitive and accurate quotes.
Strong ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Commercial acumen with experience in contract management, negotiation and financial oversight.
Practical understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fabric) and maintenance lifecycle.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel essential) and CRM systems desirable.
Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites.

Skills / Qualifications:

Proven experience in facilities/building services.
Professional certifications in facilities management or estimating are an advantage.
