IT Configuration and Asset Manager

Contract IT Asset and Configuration Manager
Remote, up to £500 per day
Initial six-month contract

We have an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced IT Asset and Configuration Manager working within a complex IT environment. You will have a full remit including overseeing hardware assets, improving the accuracy of the asset register and CMDB, and ensuring the information is useful to the teams delivering IT services.

Responsibilities:

Manage and improve the day-to-day asset and configuration management processes.
Oversee hardware from purchase and deployment through return, replacement and disposal.
Keep asset and configuration records accurate, including ownership, current status and links to IT services.
Compare records in HaloITSM with information held in device management, purchasing, inventory, and supplier systems, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Put clear controls in place to maintain data and support its use in incident, problem, and change management.
Work with suppliers on asset disposal and assurance, and contribute to refresh planning and cost control.
Produce reporting, practical guidance and a prioritised plan for improvement. Requirements:

Proven experience managing IT assets and configuration data in a complex organisation.
Strong knowledge of hardware asset management, CMDB controls and data quality.
Hands-on experience improving asset records and reconciling data between systems.
Good understanding of ITIL and IT service management processes.
The ability to work effectively with technical teams and suppliers and drive issues through to resolution. Experience with HaloITSM would be useful but is not essential.
