How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager – Façades

    £50,000–£60,000 basic salary
Buckinghamshire | Hybrid and field-based | Nationwide remit
    Permanent, full-time
Performance-related bonus plus company car or car allowance

An established specialist façade contractor is looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow its UK project pipeline. This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who already knows the façade market and can turn early conversations into well-qualified tender opportunities.

You will cover projects nationwide, developing work across façades, cladding, rainscreen, curtain walling and wider external-envelope packages. The role combines new business development with building long-term relationships across the construction supply chain.

Façade-sector experience is essential. You must understand how façade packages are specified, tendered and delivered, and be comfortable speaking with main contractors, developers, architects, consultants and other key decision-makers.

    The Role

You will identify projects early, build relationships with the people shaping the specification and keep opportunities moving through design, pre-construction, tender and contract award.

Working closely with estimating, commercial, design and operations, you will decide which projects are worth pursuing and make sure each opportunity fits the business technically and commercially.

This suits someone who can open doors, ask the right questions and stay involved throughout a longer construction sales cycle. You will have the technical knowledge to discuss façade systems and project requirements without relying on others to lead every conversation.

    Key Responsibilities

Build a strong pipeline of UK façade, cladding and external-envelope projects

Develop new relationships with main contractors, developers, architects, façade consultants and specifiers

Identify opportunities during design, pre-construction and procurement

Qualify projects by value, programme, scope, risk, procurement route and likelihood of success

Create new accounts while continuing to develop existing client relationships

Work with estimating and commercial teams on competitive tender submissions

Follow opportunities from first contact through tender, negotiation and contract award

Attend client meetings, networking events and relevant industry exhibitions

Keep CRM records, pipeline reports and forecasts accurate and up to date

Report on activity, secured work and progress against agreed sales targets

    What We’re Looking For

Proven business development or sales experience in façades, cladding or external envelope

A useful network across main contractors, developers, architects, consultants or specifiers

Good knowledge of façade systems, specifications, tendering and procurement

Evidence of finding, developing and converting construction project opportunities

Commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge or walk away from unsuitable enquiries

Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills

A proactive approach to opening new accounts and following up opportunities

Ability to manage a nationwide field-based role and organise your own diary

    Full UK driving licence

    Relevant Façade Experience

Your background should include commercial experience with one or more of the following:

    Rainscreen or architectural cladding

    Curtain walling or architectural glazing

    Aluminium façade systems

    SFS and associated external-envelope systems

    Façade remediation and recladding

    Fire-rated façade solutions

    Façade design, manufacture or installation

General construction sales experience on its own will not be enough for this position; a practical understanding of façade packages and the people involved in buying them is required.

    What’s on Offer

    £50,000–£60,000 basic salary

    Performance-related bonus

    Company car or car allowance

Hybrid working with a nationwide client remit

A key role in the continued growth of a specialist façade contractor

Apply now if you have a strong façade-sector network and a track record of turning project leads into secured work. Please send an up-to-date CV outlining the façade systems, clients and project types you have worked with
