How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Medical Secretary - SW15

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Medical Secretary to join a busy healthcare team based in SW15.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary who is organised, professional and confident working within a busy healthcare environment. The successful candidate will provide essential secretarial and administrative support while working closely with patients, clinicians and the wider healthcare team.

    Role Details

    Location: SW15

    Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

    Start Date: ASAP

    Contract: Temporary with potential for extension / permanent opportunity

    Breaks: 1 x 30-minute unpaid break and 2 x 15-minute breaks

    DBS: Enhanced DBS check required (Adult & Child Workforce)

    Key Responsibilities

    Providing comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative support

    Managing and coordinating patient appointments

    Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and systems

    Assisting with patient billing and related administration

    Handling telephone and email enquiries from patients and healthcare professionals

    Liaising with patients, clinicians, colleagues and other departments

    Supporting the wider medical administration team with day-to-day activities

    Ensuring all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently

    Handling confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

    Has previous experience working as a Medical Secretary

    Has experience within a healthcare, medical or clinical environment

    Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail

    Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Is confident and professional when dealing with patients and healthcare professionals

    Is comfortable using computer systems and medical administration software

    Can manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy environment

    Is reliable, professional and works well as part of a team

    Is available to start ASAP

    Has, or is able to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
