Monday Matters Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established, independently owned garage group to recruit an experienced General Garage Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and continued development of two sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious automotive professional who enjoys being hands-on, making decisions and having a genuine influence on the performance and future direction of a business.
The Role:
As General Garage Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful operation of both garage sites, ensuring high standards across sales, customer service, workshop performance, people management and commercial performance. Working closely with the owners, you will have the autonomy to identify opportunities, implement improvements and drive the business forward.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of both garage sites
* Lead, motivate and develop a multi-skilled team
* Drive workshop productivity, efficiency and profitability
* Monitor and improve sales and overall commercial performance
* Ensure consistently high standards of customer service
* Manage KPIs, budgets and financial performance
* Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve processes
* Recruit, train and develop team members where required
* Ensure operational, health and safety and compliance standards are maintained
* Deal with customer escalations and ensure issues are resolved professionally
* Work closely with the owners on business strategy and future growth
* Maintain a strong presence across both sites and lead by example
About You:
We are looking for an experienced automotive manager with a strong understanding of garage operations and what it takes to run a successful workshop environment. You may currently be working as a General Manager, Garage Manager, Aftersales Manager, Service Manager, Workshop Manager or Operations Manager and be ready to take the next step.
You will need to be commercially minded, confident managing people and comfortable taking responsibility for both the operational and financial performance of a business. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working within an independent environment, where decisions can be made quickly and your ideas can genuinely make a difference.
