A successful and well-regarded secondary school in Haringey is looking to appoint a committed and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join their team as soon as possible.

The Role
As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and protection of students, working closely with staff, families and external agencies.
You will be responsible for:
Leading and managing the school's safeguarding provision
Acting as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns
Supporting staff to identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding issues
Working closely with external agencies and professionals where required
Maintaining accurate and confidential safeguarding records
Providing safeguarding advice, guidance and training to staff
Promoting a strong culture of safeguarding across the school
Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implementedAbout You
The successful candidate will:
Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
Have significant experience working within a secondary school
Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and legislation
Have previous experience dealing with safeguarding concerns
Ideally have previous experience working as a DSL or Deputy DSL
Have excellent communication and organisational skills
Be confident working with students, staff, parents and external agencies
Have a calm, professional and sensitive approach when dealing with complex situations
