How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Veterinary Behaviour Residency | Bristol, UK. £45,000, plus benefits and bonus scheme.

You’ve already done the hard bit; you’re a qualified vet. Now imagine spending the next few years becoming genuinely exceptional at something you’re passionate about, without the nights, weekends and general practice treadmill.

Become a specialist. Build your expertise, and have the opportunity to become part of the practice you help grow.

Denenberg Veterinary Psychiatry is looking for an ambitious veterinary surgeon who wants to build a long-term career in veterinary behavioural medicine, rather than simply collect another qualification and move on.

Based in Bristol, this is a full-time employed residency working closely with Dr Sagi Denenberg, giving you the opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a dedicated referral service. You’ll see an interesting and varied caseload, have structured support and feedback, and gradually progress from observation through supervised to independent case management.

Also, importantly, this is about what happens after the residency too.

Our aim is to find someone who wants to stay, develop and become an important part of the future of the business. Successfully complete your residency and, if the fit is right for both of us, you’ll have the opportunity to buy into the practice.

That makes this more than a residency. It could be the start of something you eventually have a genuine stake in.

    What’s on offer?

    * £45,000 salary, plus pension, holiday and employment benefits.

    * Bonus scheme and salary progression.

    * Approximately 35 hours per week.

    * No evenings, weekends or emergency duties.

    * Some flexibility for hybrid working.

    * Progressive training from observation to independent case management.

    * A diverse referral caseload with no general-practice responsibilities.

    * Regular case review and structured feedback.

    * Dedicated support with research, publications and presentations.

    * Conference participation and residency CPD.

    * Opportunities to collaborate on research, teaching and specialist development.

    * Support for required continuing education and travel.

    * The chance to help develop and expand a growing specialist behaviour service.

    Is this you?

You’ll hold a recognised veterinary degree, be registered with the RCVS. You’ll have completed an internship or have equivalent postgraduate clinical experience.

More importantly, you’ll be curious, motivated and keen to improve. You’ll welcome direct feedback, enjoy working collaboratively and have the ambition to become a specialist, and potentially much more.

The programme may support an ECAWBM or ACVB residency, depending on your eligibility and professional goals, with a potential dual pathway for the right candidate.

    So, what’s next?

If you’ve been looking for a residency that offers more than a certificate at the end of it, this could be move that changes everything. Come to Bristol, complete the residency and become the specialist. Then, if we’re right for each other, become part of the practice.

Send your CV or reach out with any questions. We want to know the person, not just the paperwork.

Come and join us as at Denenberg Veterinary Psychiatry. This is more than a residency. It’s an opportunity to build a future
