How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £52,000 per annum

    Location: Walsall

    About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proven Head of Recruitment to lead recruitment across our Ofsted division.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the Children’s Services sector and has a strong track record of successfully recruiting Registered Managers and senior operational professionals within Ofsted-regulated services.

You will work closely with the Senior Management Team and operational leaders to understand recruitment requirements, attract high-quality candidates and ensure vacancies are filled with the right people.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead recruitment activity across the Ofsted division.

    * Develop and manage a strong pipeline of experienced Ofsted Registered Managers.

    * Successfully recruit Registered Managers and other senior management positions.

    * Work closely with operational managers and the SMT to understand current and future recruitment needs.

    * Develop effective sourcing strategies to attract high-quality candidates.

    * Manage the recruitment process from initial search through to offer and appointment.

    * Build strong relationships with candidates and understand their experience, career aspirations and suitability.

    * Maintain an active talent pool for future Registered Manager vacancies.

    * Monitor recruitment activity and provide regular updates to the SMT.

    * Support the growth and expansion of the Ofsted division through effective recruitment.

    About You

    * Proven experience in recruitment within Children’s Services / Ofsted-regulated services.

    * Excellent knowledge of the Ofsted and Children’s Services recruitment market.

    * Experience recruiting at management and senior management level.

    * Strong candidate sourcing and relationship-building skills.

    * The ability to work independently while partnering closely with senior leaders.

    * A proactive, hands-on approach to recruitment.

    * Strong communication, organisation and influencing skills.

    What We Are Looking For

This is a key role within the Ofsted division, so we are looking for someone who can demonstrate proven results, rather than someone who has simply worked within recruitment.

You will need to understand what makes a strong Registered Manager, where to find them and how to successfully attract and recruit them.
