Our client is a leading UK-based laser manufacturer, renowned for developing innovative solid-state laser equipment and technology for industrial and scientific users. With applications ranging from drilling and cutting of aerospace metals through to welding, holography, optical damage measurements and plasma diagnostics.
The Role
As a Senior Production Engineer, you will have an electrical/electronic engineering background and proven industry experience. You will be involved in the design, production and programming of electrical equipment, panels, modules, lasers and machines.
The role will initially be based at their site in Rugby for approximately six months, before relocating to Blaby, Leicestershire.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and laying out electrical panels
Supervising the production of electrical panels and modules
Programming PLCs
Configuring and programming CNC systems, including Aerotech A3200 and Aerotech Automation 1
Assisting with the production of lasers and machines
Building mechanical assemblies
Ensuring electrical equipment and electrical safety circuits meet relevant standards and regulations
What We’re Looking For
Graduate-level qualification or background in electrical/electronic engineering
At least 5 years' industry experience
Knowledge of standards and regulations relating to the design and manufacture of electrical equipment and electrical safety circuits
Ability to design and lay out electrical panels
Ability to supervise the production of electrical panels and modules
Ability to program PLCs
Ability to configure and program CNC systems such as Aerotech A3200 and Aerotech Automation 1
Willingness to assist with the production of lasers and machines
Ability to build mechanical assemblies
