How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour

    Job Description:

Across Sussex · Morning, afternoon, evening & weekend shifts · Full training provided

Unicare Complex Care Specialist is a CQC-registered provider of supported living, complex care and community support. Across Sussex, we help people living with mental health needs to stay well, grow in confidence and lead full, independent lives in their own homes and communities.

We are looking for warm, resilient Mental Health Support Workers to join our Sussex community team. You’ll build genuine, trusting relationships with the people we support and provide the person-centred care that helps them on their recovery journey — every single day.

    Where you’ll be working

Community-based across Sussex, supporting people in and around [insert key areas — e.g. Brighton & Hove, Worthing, Crawley, Eastbourne].

    Your shifts

Our community service runs across a range of shifts, and patterns vary from week to week. We’ll always work with you around your availability.

    Shift

    Typical hours

    Morning shift

    Daytime cover from early morning [e.g. 7:00am – 2:00pm]

    Afternoon shift

    Daytime into early evening [e.g. 2:00pm – 8:00pm]

    Evening shift

Evening support [e.g. 8:00pm – 10:00pm; waking nights where required]

    Weekend shifts

Saturdays & Sundays — daytime and evening cover

Full-time, part-time and bank hours available.

    What you’ll be doing

    * Building trusting, professional relationships with the people we support

    * Delivering person-centred support that promotes recovery, wellbeing and independence

    * Supporting with daily living, medication prompts, appointments and accessing the community

    * Encouraging social inclusion, meaningful activity and confidence

    * Recognising changes in mental health and responding in line with support and risk-management plans

    * Working alongside families, clinicians and the wider team, and keeping accurate, professional records

    What we’re looking for

    * A compassionate, patient and resilient approach, with strong communication skills

    * An interest in — or experience of — supporting people with mental health needs (experience welcome but not essential; full training is provided)

    * Flexibility to work across varied shift patterns, including evenings and weekends

    * The right to work in the UK

    * Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (we arrange and support this)

    * Ability to travel reliably across Sussex (a driving licence and access to a vehicle is an advantage)

    What we offer

    * A competitive hourly rate from £13 to £14.50 based on experience.

    * structured induction including the Care Certificate and specialist mental health training

    * Ongoing training, regular supervision and a genuinely supportive team

    * Flexible shifts built around your availability, with real opportunities to progress within a growing CQC-registered provider
