How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Trust is a not-for-profit registered social landlord, regulated by the Scottish Housing Regulator, Care Inspectorate and Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR). We are a national organisation and one of the largest housing, support and care providers in Scotland offering a range of housing and support services across the length and breadth of the country. Trust was established in 1973 and has now evolved and grown to 4000 homes and delivering services to over 4,000 customers.

Our wide range of services - from landlord only - to care and support - are flexible and tailored to the needs of individuals. This allows our customers to live independently with an enhanced quality of life, and their families to have peace of mind.

The organisation and our people are customer focussed, delivering value for money and developing innovative solutions to enhance the customer experience. We are committed through our values to empower and support our people. Our culture is caring, involving and compassionate – but we are also focused on making change happen and delivering results.

We are looking for a new Reactive Repairs & Maintenance Inspector to join our growing Assets & Sustainability Team. The postholder will ensure high-quality reactive repairs and maintenance services ensuring that our customer’s homes are maintained to a high standard and are compliant with contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements, whilst also providing a 10/10 customer experience.

The post will be part of our Blended Working Model involving home working, with regular visits to Trust housing stock on the Isle of Arran and any other operational requirements. Occasional working from any of our 3 office locations (Glasgow/Edinburgh/Wishaw) may also be required.

This position is advertised as full-time; however, applications from candidates seeking a part-time arrangement (3 or 4 days per week) will be considered for those based locally. Applicants wishing to be considered for the part-time option should clearly indicate this within their application.

This role is for someone who is used to making a difference, enjoys a challenge, and welcomes the opportunity to contribute widely. 2026 will be a very exciting time to join Trust as we continue to implement our new corporate strategy ‘Ready Together’ which is built around three connected strategic themes. The strategy will be guided by our purpose, values and core pillars - financial sustainability, net zero, governance and compliance. Growth, technology, data and responsible use of AI will all help us deliver the strategy.

In return for your talent and commitment as Reactive Repairs & Maintenance Inspector we will offer you:
