Are you a Mathematics graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience before pursuing a career in teaching?
A highly regarded and Outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a confident and academically strong Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who has a genuine passion for Mathematics and enjoys helping students achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will primarily be supporting A Level Maths students, working closely with teaching staff to provide academic support and help students develop their understanding and confidence in the subject.
The Role:
Supporting A Level Maths students across the school
Providing one-to-one and small-group academic support
Helping students develop their understanding of challenging Maths concepts
Supporting students with exam preparation, coursework and revision
Working alongside experienced Maths teachers within the department
Encouraging students to become more confident and independent learners
Assisting with the wider day-to-day support of the Maths department
The Ideal Candidate:
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
Excellent subject knowledge and an ability to confidently explain complex mathematical concepts
Previous experience supporting students, either within a school, tutoring environment or through relevant voluntary/paid work
Comfortable working with Sixth Form and A Level students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, approachable and confident when working with young people
A genuine passion for Mathematics and education
An aspiring teacher or graduate considering teacher training
