About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineer and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall.
We’re looking for a Head of Disciplines to join our team based in Milton Keynes.
In this role you will lead and coordinate structures & drainage, geotechnical, rail systems, environmental discipline and maintain and foster the technical competence within the discipline teams to ensure adequate ability to meet programme needs through construction and into handover delivery phases. You will also support and provide direction to project teams across the programme with non-standard, complex and/or cross-project technical challenges, utilising subject matter expertise within discipline teams.
Part of this role is to drive the programme across the disciplines for key technical handover delivery documentation being produced to enable compliance to be demonstrated, including geotechnical feedback reports, durability verification reports, system safety and NTSN compliance. You will own key relationships with design consultants and client representatives to enable resolution of issues that cannot be solved by discipline leads alone. You will also manage specialist consultants as required.
 
In addition, you will ensure contractual entitlement for discipline-related matters are managed both upstream to the client and downstream to the supply chain. You will maintain weekly and monthly reporting to the senior leadership team and chair various meetings involving client and suppliers. You will also manage resource levels and forecasts, maintaining balance between efficiency and sufficient resource to maintain programme.

About The Candidate
Key Skills and Qualifications:
 
Extensive experience in major engineering project management, with considerable experience managing technically complex challenges to conclusion
Degree-qualified in civil engineering or a related engineering, construction or infrastructure discipline.
Chartered (CEng MICE) or equivalent professional qualification.
Ability to lead and manage teams, maintaining focus on key priorities and achieving ‘best for project’ outcomes.
Evidencable negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
NEC3/4 Project Management Accreditation or extensive experience managing NEC contracts with both suppliers and clients.
Strong communication skills that can be applied at various organisational levels, both internally and externally.
Structural/bridge background desirable, but not essential.
Previous experience working on HS2 desirable.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
