The Role
We're looking for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our education recruitment team, working across Primary, SEN and EYFS recruitment in London and Essex.
This is a sales, resourcing and business development-focused role, and you'll be trained to become a fully-fledged 360 Recruitment Consultant. You'll initially learn the fundamentals of recruitment, including candidate sourcing, business development, relationship building and vacancy management.
As your confidence and experience develops, you'll take on increasing responsibility for winning new business, managing school relationships and building your own client base. You'll be supported by our experienced team throughout your training, with access to existing resources, vacancies and clients while you learn the role.
The long-term goal is for you to develop your own specialist recruitment desk, build strong client relationships and become a successful 360 Recruitment Consultant.
What you'll be doing
• Learning the recruitment industry and developing your knowledge of the education sector
• Making outbound calls to schools and prospective clients
• Building relationships with schools and key decision-makers
• Identifying new vacancies and recruitment opportunities
• Booking meetings and school visits
• Supporting the team with existing client relationships and vacancies
• Sourcing and interviewing education professionals
• Matching candidates to suitable vacancies
• Registering and managing candidates throughout the recruitment process
• Developing your understanding of sales, business development and recruitment
• Working towards agreed targets and KPIs
• Maintaining accurate records and keeping on top of your candidate and client activity
• Learning how to negotiate rates and manage the recruitment process from start to finish
• Progressively taking ownership of your own clients and vacancies
• Developing your own specialist recruitment desk as you progress
The role will initially involve a strong focus on learning, candidate recruitment and business development.
As you become more experienced, you'll progressively take ownership of your own clients and move towards a fully 360 recruitment position.
What we're looking for
Previous recruitment experience isn't essential.
We're more interested in your attitude, work ethic, ambition and ability to communicate with people than whether you've worked in recruitment before. You might be coming from a sales, retail, hospitality, customer service or graduate background — or you may simply be looking for your first opportunity in a professional sales environment.
