The Role - Teacher of English
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Brent is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher of English to join its teaching team on a long-term basis starting in January.
As the successful Teacher of English, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, communication and analytical skills while helping them achieve their academic potential.
You will work closely with the English department and wider teaching team to deliver a broad and engaging curriculum. You will be expected to monitor student progress, provide effective feedback and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning needs.
Previous experience teaching English within a secondary school is desirable, along with strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English. Experience preparing students for GCSE examinations would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and confident in the classroom, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. A commitment to maintaining high expectations and supporting students to achieve their full potential is essential.
