About the role and school

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in Twickenham? Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that is looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants and Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their team on an ad-hoc basis, with full and part-time opportunities available from ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants to gain further experience across a primary school setting while making a positive difference to pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.

The school is a well-established primary academy in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, serving a diverse and engaged local community. The school has a strong ethos centred around high expectations and ensuring pupils are ambitious for their learning and development. With supportive leadership, a positive approach to behaviour and a broad, engaging primary curriculum, the school provides a welcoming environment for both pupils and staff. This Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant or Graduate Teaching Assistant who is looking to develop their experience within primary education. Higher Level Teaching Assistants are also encouraged to apply for ad-hoc work covering classes in the teachers absence.

Job Responsibilities

Support teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum
Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, including children with SEND
Assist pupils with their learning, development and classroom activities while encouraging independence
Support positive behaviour management and contribute to a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
Prepare classroom resources and learning materials in line with lesson objectives
Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Cover classes in the teachers absence (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) Qualifications/Experience

Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
SEND experience desired
Minimum 3 months UK experience working in a childcare setting
Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
