Location: Halifax
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–5:00pm | Friday, 6:00am–12:00pm (46 hour per week)

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Beam Saw Operator to join a well-established panel processing and furniture manufacturer based in Halifax.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone with previous beam saw experience who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Working as part of a two-person team, you will operate an SCM beam saw, cutting a variety of sheet materials to optimised cutting lists while maintaining quality, productivity and minimal material waste.

Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate an SCM beam saw to produce accurate panels from MFC, MDF, chipboard, plywood and laminated boards
Read and work from cutting lists, optimisation patterns and technical drawings
Load and unload sheet materials safely
Check dimensions, squareness and finish quality of completed panels
Label and stack cut components ready for the next stage of production
Change and set saw and scoring blades when required
Carry out routine daily checks and basic machine maintenance
Report faults, downtime and material shortages to the Production Supervisor
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
Support other areas of production when requiredAbout YouWe are looking for someone who has:

Previous experience operating a beam saw
SCM beam saw experience would be a strong advantage, although experience with Holzma/Homag, Biesse, Giben or similar machinery will also be considered
An understanding of cutting optimisation software
Good numeracy and accurate measuring skills
Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
A reliable and punctual approach to work
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
