How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Be right at the heart of campus life and make a real difference every single day as a Campus Support Responder at Yeovil College. This term time only role is a hands-on, visible role for someone calm under pressure, people-focused and committed to keeping learners safe, supported and thriving. We’re recruiting now with a quick turnaround, so if this sounds like you, don’t hang about—get your application in fast!

As a Campus Support Responder, you’ll offer a supportive and highly visible presence to learners, staff and visitors, always prioritising safety and wellbeing across the College. You’ll respond to first aid, wellbeing and emergency incidents, act as a designated first aider, monitor behaviour, promote positive choices and College values, and help maintain campus security, including the appropriate use of CCTV. Working closely with Student Support Services, the Senior Safeguarding Officer and DSL, you’ll identify, report and record safeguarding concerns, support vulnerable learners, signpost to the right services and follow College procedures. You’ll diffuse conflict using a solution-focused, restorative approach. In short: you’ll be a steady, trusted presence who helps our campus run safely, respectfully and inclusively—every day.

    What we're looking for:

Demonstrable experience of building positive, respectful relationships with young people.

Trained in Safeguarding, or committed to achieving the required training.

A highly professional approach with the ability to maintain clear and appropriate boundaries at all times.

Confident in de-escalating situations and managing conflict in a calm, solution-focused way.

Able to stay composed, level-headed and effective in pressurised situations.

A strong team player who works collaboratively and supports colleagues when needed.

    What we offer:

    Annual Salary: £21,246.76 [FTE £26,129]

Full-time position, 37 hours per week, Term Time only

Generous pension scheme of 16.1% employer contributions

Staff discount scheme with high street and online retailers

Opportunities for professional development and career growth

    Employee assistance programme

    Free onsite gym

    Subsidised catering facilities

    Cycle to work scheme

    Access to free staff parking

    Don't miss out!

Join Yeovil College and make a real difference in the lives of students as they embark on their educational journeys. Apply now to become a part of our dedicated and dynamic team!

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications. If you’re excited about this opportunity, submit your application as soon as possible!
