Salary: £39,196 (M1)–£58,120 (UPS3) per annum, Outer London pay scale

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

About the Role:

An Orthodox Jewish primary school in Barnet is seeking a warm, experienced Nursery Teacher for maternity cover, leading 24 children aged three to four. Two daily Jewish Studies lessons provide additional non-contact time for planning, assessment and preparation.

You will combine child-led exploration with adult-led activities, sensory experiences and a short daily phonics session to prepare children for Reception. Working closely with Nursery support staff and Jewish Studies colleagues, you will plan provision, assess progress and adapt learning to childrens developing needs.

Established routines and a supportive team provide a strong foundation for the role. Previous Jewish education experience is welcome, while respect for the schools' Orthodox Jewish ethos and traditions is essential.

Requirements:

· Qualified Teacher Status recognised in England

· EYFS teaching experience, ideally in Nursery

· Strong understanding of early child development, observation and assessment

· Ability to support the schools Orthodox Jewish ethos

· The right to work in the UK

· Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding checks

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan engaging provision balancing child-led play and purposeful adult-led learning

· Deliver short daily phonics sessions

· Observe development, maintain learning records and adapt activities

· Work with Nursery staff to maintain consistent, reassuring routines

· Collaborate with Jewish Studies colleagues throughout the day

· Create inviting spaces that encourage exploration and independence

· Use sound judgement to develop provision while preserving effective routines
