How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Head of Web Development

    Location: Leeds

At KINESSO, we combine data, technology and creativity to deliver performance-driven digital experiences for some of the world’s leading brands. As part of the Omnicom Group network, we work at the intersection of media, technology and innovation - helping clients solve complex challenges through modern digital solutions.

We’re looking for a Head of Web Development to lead and evolve our development capability across client delivery, technical strategy and team leadership. This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who is equally comfortable shaping long-term technical direction, supporting commercial growth, and leading high-performing development teams day to day.

You’ll have genuine ownership over the evolution of our development capability, tooling, processes and innovation roadmap.

    The Role

As Head of Web Development, you will oversee the planning, delivery and growth of our web development function. You’ll work closely with strategy, client services and sales teams to scope and pitch technical solutions, while also driving best practice across engineering, innovation and emerging technologies - including AI within development workflows and products.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, teams are supported and developed effectively, and our technical offering continues to evolve in line with client and market needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage the web development team across multiple client projects and internal initiatives
    • Own resource planning, workload management and project estimation processes
    • Partner with the sales and commercial teams to support pitches, proposals and new business opportunities
    • Translate client requirements into scalable, commercially viable technical solutions
    • Define and lead technical strategy for client accounts and agency-wide development practices
    • Drive innovation across the development function, particularly around AI, automation and emerging technologies
    • Establish and maintain development standards, processes and best practices
    • Mentor, coach and support developers across different levels of experience
    • Work collaboratively with UX, Media, Creative, Strategy and client service teams to deliver integrated digital experiences
    • Contribute to hiring, team growth and capability development
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to a high technical standard

    About You

    • Significant experience leading web development teams within an agency or digital environment
    • Strong understanding of modern web technologies, frameworks and CMS platforms
    • Experience scoping, estimating and pitching technical work to clients
    • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance technical quality and business objectives
    • Comfortable developing both client-facing and internal technical strategies
    • Passionate about innovation and emerging technology, particularly AI within development
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Proven experience managing and developing technical teams
    • Collaborative leadership style with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
