How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Want to build a marketing function from scratch, do every bit of it yourself, and make building maintenance the most interesting thing on someone's LinkedIn feed? Read on.

"Building maintenance marketing." We know. It doesn't exactly scream thrilling.

Then you meet the team abseiling down the Shard at dawn.

Teams that look like Ghostbusters abseiling down London's tallest buildings. Centuries-old stone being carefully restored by hand. Cutting-edge tech meeting historical craftsmanship. The kind of work that makes tourists stop and stare.

We don't just maintain buildings, we're the guardians of London's skyline. From the Shard to St. Paul's, from Georgian townhouses to brutalist masterpieces, we keep the city's most iconic structures standing tall.

Your mission? Build our marketing function from the ground up, and tell that story yourself.

There's no marketing team here. No agency on retainer. No PR firm. Just you, a blank page, and some of the best stories in the built environment.

You'll write the copy, build the Google Ads campaigns, pitch the journalists, run the LinkedIn, organise the events, and report on the numbers.

Strategy in the morning, keyword bids and press releases in the afternoon. It's busy, it's full on, and it's all yours.

Before you read on, a quick honesty check:

This role is not for you if your recent years have been spent leading a marketing team and directing agencies. We need someone who is still doing the work, and loves doing it. If you'd need to brief an agency to run Google Ads or get press coverage, this isn't the right fit.

This role is for you if you've come from any B2B sector where you've been the marketing person (or one of a very small team), and you've rolled your sleeves up across the whole mix.

    The Role at a Glance:

Marketing Manager (Hands-On, Build From Scratch)
    Remote Working
    £50,000 - £70,000 DOE
    Plus Benefits

    Company: Building Maintenance Without Limits

Values: Integrity, Attention to Detail, Fun, Innovation, Adaptability

Your Background: Hands-on, full-mix marketing in a B2B services business. Proven experience personally delivering Google Ads and PR, not managing others who do.

    The Opportunity

You'll build it all. Then you'll run it all.

Strategy. Execution. Performance. There's no existing function to inherit, which means no legacy to untangle and no committee to get past. You'll set up the foundations, the plan, the channels, the tracking, the reporting, and then deliver every piece of it yourself.

And you'll prove its impact with data, because this role demands a commercial operator, not a vanity-metrics marketer.

    About Spectrum

We're the team that abseils down London's tallest buildings to keep the city standing tall.

What we do: Clean, restore, and maintain facades across London and the UK, from the Shard to Georgian townhouses, heritage landmarks to modern towers.

What makes us different: We design, build, and patent our own technology. Our innovative rope access techniques and custom-built pole systems mean we deliver world-class results without scaffolding, saving time, money, and disruption.

Who trusts us: Amazon, Canary Wharf Group, Knight Frank, Savills, NHS, Marriott, and hundreds of property managers and surveyors nationwide.

The Role - What You'll Actually Be Doing (Yourself):

    Setting Up the Function

    • Build the marketing function from scratch: strategy, plan, budget, tools, tracking and reporting
    • Set up the systems and processes you'll need, from CRM campaigns to analytics
    • Be the whole team, prioritising ruthlessly and delivering across every channel

    Google Ads & Digital (hands-on)

    • Build, launch, manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns yourself: keyword research, ad copy, bidding, landing pages, conversion tracking
    • Run LinkedIn as a growth engine, organic and paid, from content to campaign setup
    • Manage email marketing end-to-end
    • Monitor SEO and website performance like you own the P&L

    PR & Media (hands-on)

    • Write the press releases, pitch the stories and build the journalist relationships yourself
    • Secure coverage in trade and property press, and beyond where the story warrants it
    • Win speaking slots, awards entries and industry visibility

    Content & Brand

    • Write high-impact content: blogs, web copy, case studies, email campaigns, thought leadership
    • Own the brand voice and make technical topics feel thrilling
    • Plan and deliver a content calendar that tells a story worth following

    Events & Industry Presence

    • Organise and run webinars people actually want to attend
    • Manage trade exhibitions and industry events, from booking to follow-up
    • Build relationships with key trade partners

    Performance & Reporting

    • Track what matters. Report what works. Kill what doesn't.
    • Manage the budget and demonstrate ROI with clarity

    About You:

You're not just creative. You're commercial. And you're a doer.

You understand that marketing exists to drive growth, you love proving it with numbers, and you're happiest when you're building something rather than overseeing it.

    Essential Experience:

    • 3+ years in hands-on B2B marketing roles
    • Personally built and managed Google Ads campaigns, not via an agency
    • Personally delivered PR: writing releases, pitching media, securing coverage
    • Experience as a solo marketer or in a very small team, covering the full marketing mix
    • Strong content writing across digital channels
    • Paid social (especially LinkedIn Ads) and email/CRM campaign management
    • Performance reporting and ROI tracking

    Desirable:

    • Experience in construction, building services, facilities, manufacturing or engineering
    • Experience setting up a marketing function from scratch
    • SEO knowledge
    • Experience in a scaling organisation

    Why Join Spectrum?

    • Build the function your way, this is your show from day one
    • Work with meaning, preserve London's architectural soul
    • Autonomy to innovate, your ideas get built, not buried
    • Collaborate with craftspeople, with access to London's most restricted rooftops and historic sites
    • Real growth potential, we're scaling, and you'll scale with us

    The Bottom Line

If you want a role where:

    • You build something from nothing
    • You do the work, not delegate it
    • Your strategy drives revenue
    • Your work preserves history

    This is it.

Apply now. Roll your sleeves up. Build something that lasts.
