JOB SUMMARY

Metro Supply Chain UK are looking for a Solution Delivery Manager to join our small and ambitious IT team.

This role works with an exciting project which is still in the pre-deployment stage, meaning the person can come in and really put their name to something impressive.

Bringing together client partnership skills and project management to a strong technical background, this varied role is perfect for someone who doesn’t mind getting stuck in while keeping things moving.

While the person would be preferably based out of our HQ near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, we are open to explore UK based applicants who fit the experience needed, but are a little further afield.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOIN

As our Solution Delivery Manager, you'll take ownership of the successful design, delivery, and ongoing development of a major Warehouse Management Solution.

Working closely with customers, operational teams, suppliers, and technical specialists, you'll help shape a solution that supports a large-scale, high-profile operation from pre-deployment through to business-as-usual.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Acting as the main point of contact for solution delivery, building strong relationships with customers, operational teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Gathering, analysing, and translating business requirements into practical technology solutions that deliver measurable value.

Leading the implementation and ongoing evolution of our Warehouse Management Solution, ensuring it remains effective, scalable, and fit for future needs.

Managing the delivery of system integrations, coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless business processes.

Driving high standards across solution design, testing, implementation, governance, and support.

Leading a small product team, creating a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and customer success.

Managing project risks, budgets, timelines, and delivery plans to ensure successful outcomes.

Providing technical oversight and challenge to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned to long-term business objectives.

EXPERIENCE:

Essential

Proven experience delivering Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar enterprise technology solutions.

Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and requirements management.

Experience managing complex system integrations and third-party technology solutions.

Experience managing project and programme budgets.

Understanding of project governance, risk management, and change control processes.

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to work effectively across customer, operational, supplier, and technical environments.

Desirable

Experience within construction, infrastructure, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain environments.

Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure programmes.

Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, and integration technologies.

Knowledge of Blue Yonder WMS (Discrete)

Understanding of cyber security, compliance, and information governance frameworks.

PRINCE2, Agile, MSP, PMP, or equivalent project delivery qualification.
