How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lift Repair Engineer

    📍 London (Within the M25)
    💷 Salary: £37,000 - £50,000 DOE
    🕒 Full Time, Permanent

    A specialist recruitment agency is currently seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer to join a well-established and growing organisation covering sites across London and the M25. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with a strong background in lift repairs and experience working within social housing environments.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of lift repair and maintenance works, ensuring all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with current industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned lift repairs, shutdowns, and insurance defect rectification.

    * Repair and replace lift door equipment.

    * Complete re-rope configurations.

    * Replace divertors, motors, and sheaves.

    * Install auto diallers and GSM units.

    * Upgrade car and shaft lighting systems.

    * Complete digital job sheets accurately and on time.

    * Support the development and training of apprentices.

    * Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and clients.

    * Ensure compliance with all relevant lift engineering standards and procedures.

    Requirements

    * NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering.

    * Asbestos Awareness Training.

    * Previous experience within the lift industry.

    * Experience working within Social Housing is essential.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Good understanding of current British Standards relating to lifts

    * Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
