How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity with a leading ventilation solutions manufacturer

    Our client is a well-established and market-leading manufacturer of innovative ventilation solutions, supplying high-quality window vents and louvre products to customers across the construction industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to take responsibility for developing and expanding their customer base across Northern England & Scotland.

    As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth while developing long-term relationships with existing customers across your designated territory.

    You will work with window fabricators, building contractors and other commercial customers, identifying their requirements and providing effective, commercially viable ventilation and louvre solutions.

    Key responsibilities

    * Develop and grow the customer base across Northern England & Scotland

    * Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities

    * Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers

    * Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions

    * Manage the full B2B sales process from initial enquiry through to completion

    * Negotiate commercial agreements and achieve agreed sales and profitability targets

    * Conduct regular face-to-face customer and prospect meetings across the territory

    * Represent the company at relevant exhibitions, events and industry meetings

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging commercial opportunities

    * Work closely with internal teams to deliver an excellent customer experience

    The Candidate:

    * You MUST have experience selling window ventilation systems and/or commercial aluminium louvre products

    * You must have experience selling to commercial clients such as window fabricators, building contractors or construction-related businesses

    * Proven ability to generate new business and consistently achieve sales targets

    * Strong commercial awareness and sales acumen

    * Ability to understand customer needs and develop successful, profitable solutions

    * Exceptional communication, presentation and relationship-building skills

    * Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex sales processes

    * Self-motivated, results-oriented and comfortable working independently

    * Full, clean and valid driving licence
