We are working with an established and growing 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 looking to strengthen its operational team with the appointment of a Site Manager.
This is a long-term opportunity within a business that wants to bring in the right person, give them responsibility and allow them to progress as the company continues to grow.
We are happy to consider an experienced Flooring Site Manager, but we are equally interested in speaking with a 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘂𝗽 into their first full Site Manager position.
𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗩.
We’re looking for somebody who takes ownership, communicates properly, can handle pressure and wants to become a trusted member of the operational team.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of flooring projects across London and the Home Counties.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, clients, subcontractors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
▪ Managing flooring projects from site set-up through to completion and handover
▪ Managing and coordinating flooring installers, subcontractors and site labour
▪ Planning daily and weekly site activities
▪ Monitoring programmes, deadlines and progress against agreed schedules
▪ Liaising directly with clients, Project Managers, Contracts Managers and other trades
▪ Attending site meetings and providing clear progress updates
▪ Ensuring labour and materials are coordinated correctly
▪ Maintaining strong health & safety standards across site
▪ Carrying out site inspections and monitoring quality of workmanship
▪ Identifying potential issues early and taking action to resolve them
▪ Managing snagging, remedial works and final completion
▪ Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
▪ Ensuring work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and client requirements
▪ Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of projects
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡
You don’t necessarily need to have spent years with the title of Site Manager.
If you are currently working as a 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿, Senior Supervisor, Working Supervisor or similar and feel ready to take the next step, we would still like to hear from you.
You will ideally have:
✓ Previous experience within the flooring industry
✓ Site management or strong site supervisory experience
✓ 𝗦𝗠𝗦𝗧𝗦 qualification preferred
✓ 𝗦𝗦𝗦𝗧𝗦 candidates with the right experience and ambition will be considered
✓ Good knowledge of construction site health & safety
✓ Experience managing labour and subcontractors
✓ Strong organisation and time-management skills
✓ Good communication skills when dealing with clients and site teams
✓ Ability to read programmes, drawings and project information
✓ Ability to remain calm and make sensible decisions under pressure
✓ A proactive approach to resolving problems
✓ Full UK driving licence preferred
Most importantly, we want somebody with a 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲, who takes responsibility and wants to progress.
Construction projects don’t always go exactly to plan. Labour changes. Programmes move. Other trades cause delays. Clients change requirements.
We need somebody who can deal with those situations professionally, find solutions and keep the project moving rather than simply passing the problem onto somebody else.
𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 & 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟
Projects will predominantly be based across 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, including:
▪ Central London
▪ Greater London
▪ Essex
▪ Hertfordshire
▪ Kent
▪ Surrounding areas
You will therefore need to be comfortable travelling between projects depending on the requirements of the business.
