How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Children & Young People’s Manager

IOS Care – Cardiff or Barry
    Full-Time, Permanent
    Performance-Related Bonuses Available

IOS Care is looking for an experienced, motivated and ambitious Children & Young People’s Manager to join our growing organisation.

This is an exciting management opportunity for someone who wants to take responsibility for two developing areas of our business: our busy children’s staffing agency, supplying experienced care and support staff to children’s residential homes, and our children’s domiciliary care service, supporting children and young people within their own homes and communities.

The successful candidate can be based from either our Cardiff or Barry office, depending on their preference.

    The Role

As Children & Young People’s Manager, you will take a lead role in the day-to-day management, quality and development of our children’s services.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing and developing our busy children’s recruitment and staffing agency.

    * Coordinating the placement of suitably experienced and compliant staff into children’s residential homes.

    * Managing and developing our children’s domiciliary care service.

    * Building positive professional relationships with local authorities, commissioners, social workers, children's homes and other organisations.

    * Responding to new referrals and assessing whether IOS Care can safely and appropriately meet the needs of children and young people.

    * Overseeing care and support packages and ensuring they are delivered safely and effectively.

    * Supporting the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of children's support workers.

    * Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care.

    * Monitoring staff performance, competency, training and compliance.

    * Ensuring safeguarding concerns are recognised, reported and managed appropriately.

    * Maintaining high standards of record keeping, care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance.

    * Working closely with senior management to identify opportunities to develop and grow our children’s services.

    * Ensuring services operate in accordance with relevant Welsh legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.

    Essential Requirements

    Applicants must:

    * Hold a Level 5 qualification in Children and Young People, or currently be working towards an appropriate Level 5 qualification.

    * Be appropriately registered with Social Care Wales (SCW).

    * Have relevant experience working within children and young people’s services.

    * Have a good understanding of safeguarding children and young people.

    * Have strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

    * Be confident managing staff and dealing professionally with external organisations.

    * Hold a full driving licence and be able to drive, as travel will be required as part of the role.

    * Be committed to delivering safe, person-centred and outcome-focused services for children and young people.

Experience within children’s residential care, domiciliary care, staffing/recruitment agencies or service management would be particularly advantageous.

    What We Offer

IOS Care is an established and expanding care provider, and this role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to play an important part in the continued development of our children's services.

    We offer:

    * Choice of being based at our Cardiff or Barry office.

    * A permanent management position within a growing organisation.

    * Performance-related bonuses linked to the successful development and performance of the service.

    * Support with continued professional development.

    * Opportunities to develop your role as our children's services expand.

    * A supportive senior management and compliance team.

    * The opportunity to have genuine input into how our children’s services develop.

    About IOS Care

IOS Care provides regulated care and support services alongside specialist health and social care staffing and recruitment. Our children's division supports children and young people directly through domiciliary care while also providing experienced staff to children's residential services.

We are looking for someone who combines strong care values with commercial awareness and leadership ability – someone who can maintain excellent standards while helping us develop and expand our children's services.

If you are an experienced children's care professional looking for your next management opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.
