šØ On-Call Rota | Mobile Engineering Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Combustion Engineer to work across a range of commercial and domestic sites throughout the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Combustion Engineer with strong commercial and domestic boiler experience to join a mobile engineering team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, servicing, breakdowns and commissioning across a varied portfolio of sites.
š§ Key Responsibilities
ā¢ š„ Service, maintain and repair commercial and domestic boilers and combustion equipment.
ā¢ āļø Work on commercial boilers, associated gas equipment, gas-fired radiant heaters, water heaters and control valves.
ā¢ š¢ Attend multiple sites across the Midlands, predominantly covering Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and the wider West Midlands.
ā¢ š ļø Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and breakdown works.
ā¢ š Ensure all relevant maintenance paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and submitted promptly.
ā¢ š» Complete electronic forms and supplementary documentation relating to maintenance activities.
ā¢ š± Update CAFM systems in real time with start, wait, stop and completion times.
ā¢ š Provide clear descriptions of works undertaken and identify any follow-on works required.
ā¢ šØ Respond to reactive maintenance requirements and ensure tasks are completed within required timescales.
ā¢ š Proactively identify opportunities for improvement across sites and equipment.
ā¢ š Identify and record plant failures and raise quotations where remedial works are required.
ā¢ š¤ Maintain professional relationships with customers and site representatives.
ā¢ š Participate in the on-call rota.
ā¢ š”ļø Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, procedures and industry standards.
šØāš§ Requirements
ā¢ š Recognised industry qualification in gas, combustion, plumbing or a related discipline.
ā¢ š„ CCN1 ā Core Domestic Gas Safety ā essential for domestic work.
ā¢ š„ COCN1 ā Core Commercial Gas Safety ā essential for commercial work.
ā¢ š CPA1 ā Combustion Performance Analysis.
ā¢ š§ CENWAT ā domestic boiler qualification.
ā¢ āļø Commercial/domestic appliance and relevant pipework qualifications, such as CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1 and ICPN1, as applicable.
ā¢ š„ BMP1 ā Gas Boosters / Medium Pressure ā desirable/relevant.
ā¢ āļø CCP1 ā Commissioning of Commercial Plant ā desirable/relevant.
ā¢ š„ CDGA1 ā Commissioning and Servicing Direct-Fired Heaters ā desirable/relevant.
ā¢ šæ City & Guilds Level 3 Plumbing or equivalent.
ā¢ š· Trade-qualified Combustion Engineer with appropriate post-apprenticeship experience.
ā¢ š§ Strong experience working with commercial and domestic boilers.
ā¢ š Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
ā¢ š Full UK driving licence ā essential.
ā¢ š”ļø Must be able to successfully pass an Enhanced DBS check with Barred Lists where required.
ā¢ š£ļø Strong communication, organisational and customer-service skills.
ā¢ š± Comfortable using CAFM systems and completing digital maintenance records.
