How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager (Residential)

    Location: Dorset
    Project: Large Residential Development
    Salary: Competitive + Package

    Our client is a well-known national house developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential communities across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Residential Site Manager to oversee a major housing development in Dorset.

    This is a long-term opportunity on a flagship residential scheme that is scheduled for completion in 2029. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in line with company quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to completion.

    * Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site labour, and materials and ensure works are completed in accordance with construction programmes.

    * Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance by conducting regular site inspections and toolbox talks.

    * Monitor progress and report updates to senior management. Manage site logistics and site security.

    * Ensure all NHBC and building regulation requirements are met.

    * Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and stakeholders as required.

    * Oversee handovers and ensure customer satisfaction targets are achieved.

    Experience Requirements

    Applicants must demonstrate:

    * A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience as a Site Manager on residential housing developments with proven experience managing new-build residential projects from inception to completion.

    * Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades on site and strong understanding of construction programmes and site sequencing.

    * Experience maintaining excellent health and safety standards on active construction sites.

    * Previous experience delivering plots to agreed quality and production targets.

    * Ability to manage site teams and drive project progress effectively.

    Essential Qualifications & Certifications

    * Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.

    * Valid CSCS Black Card.

    * Valid First Aid at Work certificate.

    * Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.

    * Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and current building regulations.

    * NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).

    * Temporary Works Coordinator certification.

    * Scaffold Inspection certification desired but essential.

    * CIOB membership or working towards professional accreditation would be helpful.

    * Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

    * High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    * Commercial awareness and understanding of construction budgets.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office and site reporting systems.
