How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Social Care Assistant 

    Location: Hull, East Yorkshire, HU9 1DNSalary: £12.96 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shiftContract: Permanent – Full-time availableShifts: 24/7 rota – 12–14-hour shifts, including early, late and night shifts

    The Opportunity

    Avocet Trust is looking for caring and committed Social Care Assistants / Support Workers to join our team supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

    No previous experience in social care is required. We provide full training, induction and ongoing support, making this a great opportunity for anyone looking to build a rewarding career in care.

    Full-time roles involve a 24/7 rota with shifts that can vary between 12 and 14 hours, including early, late and night shifts. Part-time opportunities are also available.

    What You'll Do

    •  Provide compassionate, person-centred care and support.•  Support individuals with daily living, including personal care, meals and household tasks.•  Act as a Key Worker and help maintain individual care plans.•  Support with medication administration and supervision.•  Encourage social activities and community involvement.•  Support individuals on holidays, trips and other activities.•  Build positive relationships with the people we support.•  Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals and colleagues.
