About the Role
We are a leading regional housing provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe, and comfortable homes across our communities. We are looking for a qualified, customer-focused Electrician to join our direct maintenance team, carrying out essential electrical repairs, testing, and safety upgrades across our residents' homes.
In this role, you will play a vital part in our wider Safer Homes programme. Beyond standard electrical repairs, a key focus will be helping us create healthier living environments for our residents by installing, repairing, and maintaining modern ventilation systems-directly supporting our ongoing damp, mould, and condensation reduction initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
Electrical Repairs & Installs: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, execute remedial works, consumer unit replacements, and general safety upgrades in occupied domestic properties.
Testing & Compliance: Carry out electrical testing, inspections, and issue accurate certification via your mobile device.
Ventilation & Healthy Homes: Install, maintain, and repair domestic ventilation systems, including extractor fans and Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) units, to combat damp, mould, and condensation.
Resident Service: Work closely with residents in their homes, keeping them informed and reassured throughout the work while treating every property with respect and care.
What We're Looking For
Trade Qualification: NVQ Level 3 / AM2 (or equivalent trade qualification).
Testing & Inspection: City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395 equivalent).
Wiring Regulations: Current 18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
Licence: Full UK driving licence.
Experience & Mindset: Background in social housing or experience with domestic ventilation systems (PIV / extractor fans) is advantageous, but what matters most is your problem-solving ability, high standards of workmanship, and strong customer-first attitude.
