Graduate / Junior Structural Engineer

£32,000-£38,000 | Sheffield | Permanent | Office Based

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate or Junior Structural Engineer to join an established engineering team in Sheffield, working across a varied portfolio of building structures projects.

The position is open to fresh graduates through to engineers with around two years' industry experience, making it a strong opportunity to build practical design experience across multiple sectors early in your career.

Projects include precast concrete schemes, universities, Ministry of Justice work, care homes, student accommodation and residential developments, providing plenty of variety across both precast and traditional structures.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

Supporting structural design across a varied portfolio of building projects
Working on precast concrete and traditional structural schemes
Producing structural calculations and technical design information
Supporting projects across education, residential and public-sector environments
Working on university and student accommodation developments
Contributing to Ministry of Justice projects, including prison schemes
Supporting structural design for care homes and residential developments
Working alongside experienced engineers throughout design and project delivery
Developing your technical knowledge across different structural systems and project types

What They're Looking For

Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
Open to fresh graduates and engineers with up to around 2 years' experience
Good understanding of structural engineering principles
Interest in building structures and structural design
Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
Good communication and organisational skills
Keen to develop practical engineering and project experience
Comfortable working from the Sheffield office five days per weekPrevious experience with precast concrete or traditional building structures would be beneficial for candidates who already have some industry experience but isn't essential for graduate applicants.
