Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Advisor to support and oversee compliance across global commodities trading activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to relevant trading regulations, market conduct rules, and compliance frameworks while providing expert guidance to trading and senior leadership teams.
Strong Oil & Gas industry knowledge and experience would be viewed as a significant advantage and is highly desirable for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant trading regulations, market conduct rules, exchange requirements, and transaction surveillance obligations.
Advise trading teams and senior management on regulatory developments and the impact of regulatory change on trading activities.
Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
Conduct regulatory reviews, surveillance, and monitoring of trading activities to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Partner with Trading, Legal, Market Risk, and Risk Operations teams to address regulatory and compliance matters.
Act as a primary contact for regulatory authorities and support responses to regulatory enquiries.
Deliver compliance training and educational materials to trading teams.
Monitor emerging regulatory trends and provide strategic advice on future compliance initiatives.
Support reviews of new transactions, products, and business activities from a regulatory compliance perspective.
Requirements
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience within commodities trading compliance or a related regulatory function.
Strong understanding of global financial regulations including Dodd-Frank, CFTC, MiFID II, EMIR, and MAR.
Experience with trade surveillance systems, compliance monitoring tools, and regulatory reporting platforms.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
Highly Desirable
Previous experience within the Oil & Gas trading sector.
Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape, compliance risks, and trading operations associated with Oil & Gas commodities markets.
Experience supporting compliance programmes within energy trading environments.

Contract details:
Location: London (fully on-site, Monday to Friday)
Duration: 12-month contract (inside IR35)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate: Up to £76.86 per hour PAYE or £99.02 per hour Umbrella
