We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Assistant Estate Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within a busy healthcare environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Manager/Supervisor looking to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a team, maintenance delivery, PPMs, reactive works, SLAs and operational escalations.
š§ Key Responsibilities
⢠š„ Directly manage a team of 7 across Electrical, Mechanical and Fabric disciplines.
⢠š Manage the team's day-to-day workload, including PPM, corrective and reactive maintenance.
⢠ā±ļø Ensure maintenance activities are completed within agreed SLAs.
⢠šØ Manage and respond to escalations and operational issues.
⢠š ļø Provide technical support and assistance where required.
⢠š Manage sickness, annual leave and rota cover effectively.
⢠š¤ Work collaboratively with other Assistant Estate Managers to provide a consistent service.
⢠šØāš« Deliver toolbox talks, training and technical guidance to team members.
⢠š Monitor team performance, utilisation and productivity.
⢠š Conduct staff meetings, performance reviews and appraisals.
⢠š”ļø Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
⢠┠Assist with the operation, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical engineering services.
⢠š¢ Support the delivery of Hard FM and lifecycle maintenance services across the estate.
šØāš§ Requirements
Electrical candidates:
⢠┠Fully qualified Electrical Engineer.
⢠š Relevant electrical installation qualification/apprenticeship.
⢠š AM2 ā essential.
⢠š 18th Edition ā essential.
⢠š„ Previous management or supervisory experience.
Mechanical candidates:
⢠āļø City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Level 2 & 3, or
⢠š§ City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Level 2 & 3, or
⢠šæ City & Guilds Plumbing Level 2 & 3.
⢠š Other relevant City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications will be considered.
⢠š„ Previous management or supervisory experience.
All candidates:
⢠š¢ Experience within maintenance, facilities management, engineering or a similar environment.
⢠š Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
⢠š„ Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team.
⢠š Strong workload management and organisational skills.
⢠šØ Confident dealing with escalations and operational issues.
⢠š£ļø Strong communication and people-management skills.
⢠š”ļø Good understanding of safe working practices and statutory compliance.
⢠š Must be able to successfully pass a DBS Standard check.
