This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with managers, navigating complex employee relations matters and supporting organisational change within a unionised environment. The role offers exposure to a broad range of HR activity, although a significant proportion of the workload will be focused on employee relations and case management.
The role requires 2 days onsite in Wolverhampton (Thursday is a mandatory day).
Description
Working closely with HR Business Partners and senior HR colleagues, you'll provide advice across a broad range of people matters including employee relations, absence management, disciplinary and grievance cases, performance management, recruitment, and employment legislation. You'll build strong stakeholder relationships, support organisational initiatives, and help drive best practice across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing first-line HR advice to managers and employees.
Managing and supporting employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence matters.
Coaching managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, right-to-work checks, and UKVI processes.
Working collaboratively with Trade Union representatives.
Producing HR reports and management information.
Supporting organisational change and people-focused projects.
Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation.
Profile
We're looking for someone who can confidently balance operational HR support with excellent stakeholder management skills. You'll have:
Experience providing HR advice and guidance to managers.
Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Employee Relations case management experience.
Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence processes.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
CIPD qualification (or currently studying towards one) is desirable.
