About the Role
We are seeking Associate Tutors in Meteorology and Oceanography to support students studying through our distance learning programmes.
This flexible, casual role is ideal for experienced educators and industry professionals who are passionate about supporting learners, facilitating academic discussion, and providing guidance in an online learning environment. Associate Tutors play a key role in helping students achieve their academic and professional goals through high-quality academic support and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Tutor and support students studying via distance learning
- Facilitate online discussions and encourage student engagement
- Provide academic guidance, constructive feedback, and encouragement
- Support students in achieving learning outcomes and academic success
- Work flexibly and remotely as part of a global academic community
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant subject area
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supervising students at Master's level (or equivalent)
- Knowledge and/or professional experience in Meteorology and/or Oceanography
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence using online learning platforms and delivering support remotely
- Ability to engage and motivate learners in a distance learning environment
Preferred Skills
- Academic background or professional experience relating to sustainability
- Knowledge of social science approaches within environmental, marine, or sustainability-related disciplines
- Experience working with diverse, international student cohorts
