Section Engineer - Structures

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer with a strong background in structures to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, HS2, in Northamptonshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major civils programme, delivering complex structural works as part of a high-profile project with long-term prospects.

Key Responsibilities

Management of structural packages including bridges, retaining structures, culverts and reinforced concrete works

Setting out, quality assurance and as-built documentation

Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and task briefings

Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities

Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with project specifications

Liaising with design, temporary works and construction teams

Providing engineering support to site teams and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering projects

Strong structures background with reinforced concrete and structural works experience

Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure schemes

Competent with setting out equipment and engineering software

Good understanding of quality processes, permits and site documentation

CSCS card essential

SSSTS or SMSTS beneficial
