Nursery Operative / Labourer

Location: Maidstone, Kent

We are recruiting for a Nursery Operative / Labourer to join a well-established horticultural business near Maidstone.

This is a hands-on role within a busy commercial nursery and would suit someone with previous experience working with bedding plants or herbaceous plants in a glasshouse environment.

The Role

Duties will include:

• Potting, planting and spacing crops

• Watering and general plant maintenance

• Moving plants, trays and stock around the nursery

• Assisting with propagation activities

• Weeding and maintaining tidy growing areas

• Preparing orders for dispatch

• Supporting the production team during busy seasonal periods

• Maintaining high standards of plant quality and presentation

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a commercial bedding plant or herbaceous plant nursery is essential

• Experience working within a commercial glasshouse environment is essential

• Good practical horticultural knowledge

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work

• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Candidates may currently be working as a Nursery Operative, Nursery Assistant, Glasshouse Operative, Horticultural Labourer, Propagation Assistant or Nursery Production Operative.
