Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £50,000–£57,500 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, standard daytime hours
Contract: Full-time, permanent

We’re recruiting an experienced Utilities & Facilities Manager for a leading food manufacturing operation in Banbury.

You’ll take responsibility for the reliability, efficiency and compliance of the site’s utilities and facilities, ensuring essential services support production. This includes managing teams, contractors, maintenance programmes and improvement projects, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage site utilities, including water, electricity, HVAC and compressed air, alongside waste management services.
• Oversee facilities services, including building maintenance, cleaning and security.
• Manage performance-based service contracts, ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed standards, costs and compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop the teams responsible for utilities and facilities.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programmes in line with company standards.
• Use a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to plan, track and manage maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements through regular audits and inspections.
• Deliver improvements in utility reliability, energy efficiency and operating costs.
• Work closely with the Asset Manager and production teams to align services with operational needs.
• Support infrastructure expansion, upgrades and modification projects.
• Implement company operating standards and continuous improvement processes.

Essential Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related field.
• At least five years’ experience managing utilities and facilities within manufacturing.
• At least five years’ experience leading and managing large teams, including maintenance and engineering functions.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial utilities, equipment and building services.
• Proven experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programmes.
• Proficiency in CMMS systems.
• Experience managing performance-based contracts, contractors and internal service providers.
• A track record of delivering energy efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Experience managing large-scale utilities or facilities projects.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations and standards, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to lead effectively under pressure.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
Food manufacturing experience is preferred.

What’s on Offer
• £50,000–£57,500 annual base salary, depending on experience.
• Permanent employment with Monday-to-Friday daytime hours.
• Potential eligibility for a discretionary, non-contractual bonus of 5% of annual base salary, subject to individual and company performance.
• A choice of pension contributions:
o 5% employee contribution with 6% employer contribution, or
o 6.5% employee contribution with 13% employer contribution.
