Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager to join a globally recognised manufacturing company at its large industrial site in the Deeside / Chester area.
The successful Electrical Engineering Manager will lead electrical engineering across the plant, managing around 40 people through direct reports, including Automation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Engineers and HV Engineers.
This predominantly office-based (75%) role calls for an established people manager with a strong electrical background who can set priorities, hold teams accountable, develop capability and improve plant reliability and maintenance performance.
Key responsibilities of the Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager include:
* Leading and developing a 40-strong electrical engineering team through direct reports, setting clear priorities and holding people accountable for delivery.
* Directing electrical maintenance and reliability activities to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.
* Building team capability and driving continuous improvement in plant efficiency, reliability, quality and cost effectiveness.
* Leading the team’s health and safety performance and ensuring compliance with site safety standards.
* Identifying and implementing electrical engineering improvements to increase plant reliability and reduce equipment downtime.
* Providing engineering support for capital investment projects, plant upgrades and equipment improvements.
* Managing and controlling expenditure within the annual maintenance budget.
The successful Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager will ideally have:
* A strong, ideally time-served electrical engineering background within manufacturing, industrial or process engineering; a degree would be advantageous.
* Substantial experience leading maintenance or reliability teams through direct reports, with a proven record of building teams and managing performance.
* A sound understanding of industrial electrical systems, plant maintenance and engineering reliability, backed by established management experience.
* Experience managing engineering budgets, contractors and maintenance expenditure.
* Confident, experienced people leadership: able to set priorities, develop managers, hold teams accountable and improve safety and operational performance.
This position could suit an established Electrical Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Reliability Manager or Plant Engineering Manager seeking wider responsibility within a major manufacturing business.

* Basic salary of £60-63k
