FINANCE MANAGER (Commercially Experienced)

Location: Head Office Based (Peterborough)

Hours: Full Time – Monday - Friday

Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience

Holiday: 28 Days Incl Bank Holidays

Pension: Workplace Company Pension Scheme

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our growing business. This is a key management position combining responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business with an important commercial and purchasing function.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and be confident working across the wider business, with responsibility for financial control, reporting, analysis, budgeting and management information, whilst also developing the company purchasing and supplier management activities.

Key Accountabilities:

* Prepare departmental monthly accounts

* Cost Control over all departments of the business

* Valuing & checking purchase orders

* Raising purchase orders

* Performing commercial analysis for senior management

* Maintain supplier database

* Analysis of trade creditors

* Dealing with any incoming queries

* Budget preparation and ongoing budget monitoring

* Monitoring business performance against budgets and forecasts

* Source materials, products and services at competitive rates

* Monitor supplier pricing and identify opportunities for cost savings

* Review purchasing against project budgets and agreed margins

* Challenge purchasing costs and identify opportunities to improve gross margin

Additional Requirements That Would Be An Advantage To The Candidates Application:

* An appropriate qualification such as CIMA or AAT (Level 3)

* Strong Excel skills are a pre-requisite of this role and are essential

* Commercial acumen

* High degree of accuracy and motivation

* Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team and have drive and ambition to succeed

* Flexibility - working across all areas of business

* A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and question costs
