Hours: Monday-Friday, Full time (Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4:30pm & Fri 7:30am-12:30pm)
Salary: £30K + (DOE)
 
Are you an experienced PCB Soldering Technician with a great eye for detail and a passion for producing high-quality work?

Our Baldock-based client is looking for a skilled and reliable PCB Soldering Technician to join their friendly, close-knit production team.

You'll work across a wide variety of customer projects, meaning plenty of variety, while receiving ongoing training and support to continue developing your skills and qualifications.

The role will focus primarily on hand soldering through-hole components, inspecting completed PCB assemblies and carrying out rework and repairs where required.
 
Key responsibilities as a PCB Soldering Technician:

Hand solder through-hole components to customer and IPC standards
Prepare components for assembly, including lead forming, cropping and orientation checks
Visually inspect completed PCB assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
Identify soldering and component defects and carry out necessary rework
Desolder, repair and replace conventional components where required
Work accurately from BOMs, assembly drawings and work instructions
Fit wires, cables and additional hardware where required
Record inspection and rework results accurately
Follow ESD procedures and maintain a clean, organised workstation
Work closely with the wider team to identify recurring issues and improve quality  
Key skills and experience required of a PCB Soldering Technician:

Strong previous hand soldering experience, ideally working with through-hole PCBs
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Good manual dexterity and a steady hand
Good eyesight and colour vision, with glasses if required
Ability to read BOMs, drawings and component markings
Understanding of component polarity and orientation
Able to work accurately while managing your own workload
Reliable, organised and a positive team player  
Desirable skills and experience of a PCB Soldering Technician:

IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 training or certification
Previous PCB rework and repair experience
SMT soldering or inspection experience
Wiring, cable loom or box-build experience
