How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Compliance Officer (Temporary Assignment)

    Location: KPI Recruiting Headquarters, Stoke-on-Trent

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

    KPI Recruiting is a leading recruitment agency with national coverage, supporting clients and candidates across a wide range of sectors, including industrial, driving, logistics, commercial and more.

    We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Team at our KPI Recruiting Headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent. You will play a key role in ensuring candidates are fully compliant and ready to be placed into work, supporting our recruitment teams and helping us maintain high standards of regulatory and operational compliance.

    We are ideally looking for someone with a customer service, administration or compliance background. The role involves communicating with candidates over the phone, completing essential checks, managing documentation and using a range of IT systems to ensure all compliance requirements are met.

    What will your day-to-day duties include?

    Managing candidate applications and compliance documentation across multiple recruitment sectors.
    Conducting candidate pre-screening calls and gathering relevant information to support the compliance process.
    Working closely with recruitment consultants to ensure candidates meet the compliance requirements of our industrial, driving, logistics and commercial clients.
    Completing and maintaining right to work checks in line with current government guidelines.
    Checking driving licences, relevant qualifications, permits and other sector-specific documentation where required.
    Supporting the completion of DBS checks and other background checks relevant to client and role requirements.
    Requesting, monitoring and chasing candidate references as required.
    Ensuring candidate records are accurate, complete and up to date across internal systems.
    Reviewing documentation and identifying any missing or expired compliance requirements.
    Liaising with candidates, recruitment consultants and clients to resolve compliance queries and outstanding checks.
    Managing compliance deadlines and ensuring candidates are ready for work in a timely manner.
    Answering telephone calls and directing enquiries to the relevant team member.
    Supporting candidate registrations, including online registration forms and face-to-face registrations where required.
    Maintaining organised records, office paperwork and compliance documentation.
    Providing general administrative support to the Compliance Team and wider business as required.

    What are we looking for from you?

    Previous experience in a customer service, administration, compliance or recruitment-related role.
    An understanding of compliance processes, legislation or regulatory requirements is desirable.
    Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or missing information.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
    A confident and professional telephone manner.
    Ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
    Strong IT, administrative and organisational skills.
    A proactive approach to problem-solving.
    Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
    A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    Experience working with candidate documentation, driving licence checks or industry-specific compliance is advantageous.
    A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
