Stores Operative

Our client, a growing aerospace manufacturing organisation, is seeking a Stores Operative to support its expanding production operations. This permanent role will suit an organised and reliable stores professional with manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of inventory control, goods receiving and stock handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect and store incoming goods accurately through the Goods Inwards process
Process goods receipt documentation, including scanning, and resolve booking-in issues with the purchasing team
Ensure non-stock orders are delivered to the relevant individuals
Label, pack and store stock correctly to prevent contamination, damage and misidentification
Pick work orders in line with picking lists, maintaining excellent accuracy
Carry out loading, unloading, sorting, cleaning and stock movement activities within the stores area
Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores area and yard, with stock located appropriately
Monitor stock accuracy, report discrepancies to the Logistics Manager and support packaging waste management

Job Requirements:

Proven experience as a Stores Operative within a manufacturing environment
Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills
Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including finding and updating information in data tables
Understanding of ERP or MRP systems for processing inventory movements
Knowledge of goods-in processes and stock control procedures
Ability to follow manual handling guidelines and use suitable lifting equipment where required
Strong attention to detail, organisation and accuracy
Forklift licence and experience in Goods-In Quality Inspection would be advantageous
