Project Manager & Customer Implementation Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a highly innovative, state-of-the-art manufacturing business where technology, innovation and product development are at the heart of what they do.
This is primarily a software, IT and business systems project management role, managing around 3–4 IT, software and application projects at any one time, taking each from initial requirements through to successful implementation.
Alongside the project portfolio, you'll also manage the customer onboarding and implementation journey, supporting approximately 10 new customers per quarter and ensuring a seamless experience from initial setup through to go-live and adoption.

The role:
Software & Project Management

Manage multiple software, IT, application and business improvement projects from conception through to implementation.
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
Manage priorities, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to keep projects on track.
Gather and document business requirements and translate operational needs into practical solutions.
Work closely with software developers and technical teams.
Coordinate system configuration, development, testing and implementation.
Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting bugs, issues and improvements.
Coordinate software releases, system rollouts and user training.
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to management.
Identify risks and delays early and take ownership of solutions.
Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales, scope and budget.
Review completed projects and identify further opportunities for improvement.
Customer Onboarding & Implementation

Acting as the key point of contact throughout onboarding.
Coordinating customer requirements, information and data.
Working with internal teams to ensure accounts, products, pricing and systems are correctly configured.
Establishing onboarding plans, milestones and timescales.
Coordinating customer training and implementation sessions.
Managing customer expectations and keeping them informed.
Coordinating go-live activity across the customer and internal teams.
Monitoring early-stage implementation and resolving issues promptly.
Ensuring customers are confident using relevant systems and products.
Gathering customer feedback and feeding this into future project and product improvements.
Stakeholder Management
You'll work closely with Senior Management, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Production, Finance, IT, Software Development, external technology providers and customers.
You'll become an important link between the business, technology teams and customers, ensuring everyone understands requirements, responsibilities and timescales.

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a genuine interest in technology, systems and business improvement with:

Proven experience managing projects from initiation through to implementation.
Experience delivering software, IT, systems or application-based projects.
Strong experience managing project plans, milestones, risks and stakeholders.
Experience working with software developers, IT teams or external technology providers.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical solutions.
Experience with UAT, testing and software implementation.
Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously.
Confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong Microsoft Office and systems skills.
Customer-facing experience with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Desirable:

Manufacturing, engineering, technology or another process-driven environment.
CRM, ERP, SaaS or bespoke business systems experience.
Business process mapping and continuous improvement.
Agile, PRINCE2 or similar project management methodology.
Customer implementation or onboarding experience.
Producing user guides, training materials or delivering system training.
You'll be highly organised, proactive and structured, with the confidence to take ownership and keep projects moving. You'll be comfortable working with developers and technical teams without needing to be a developer yourself, while also communicating confidently with customers and senior stakeholders.
You'll be solutions-focused, commercially aware and customer-minded, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and suggest better ways of working.

The package includes:

£45,000–£55,000 salary DOE
Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm Fridays until 2-3pm
25 days' annual leave + bank holidays
