Commercial Manager Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
We are looking for an experienced and driven Commercial Manager to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major civil engineering programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead commercial strategy, influence key project decisions, manage commercial risk, and help deliver a landmark infrastructure project safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
As a senior member of the commercial team, you'll work closely with project leadership, commercial specialists, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure robust commercial performance while supporting the development of a high-performing team.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading the implementation of the project's commercial and delivery strategy.
Managing contracts, costs, commercial risks, and opportunities across the programme.
Providing commercial advice to senior project leaders and stakeholders.
Driving value engineering initiatives and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Overseeing commercial reporting, forecasting, earned value management, and financial performance.
Supporting procurement activities and developing effective supply chain relationships.
Leading, mentoring, and developing commercial team members to reach their full potential.
Promoting the highest standards of health, safety, wellbeing, sustainability, and environmental performance.
What are we looking for?
We're seeking a commercially astute construction professional with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering results in complex infrastructure or civil engineering environments.
You'll bring:
Significant experience in commercial management within construction or civil engineering.
Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement strategies, negotiation, change management, and dispute resolution.
Experience working collaboratively with project controls, finance, procurement, and delivery teams.
The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective relationships across large, multidisciplinary teams.
A construction-related degree, ideally in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
A passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement.
