Monday to Friday - 8am – 4.30pm (early Friday finish)
We are seeking a self-motivated Applications / Process Engineer with an engineering background. Previous honing experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Applications Department, which plays an integral role in delivering honing solutions and technical support to our customers worldwide.
The successful candidate will need to be technically minded, confident and professional, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, distributors, agents, sales and engineering teams.
The Role
Carry out honing process development, demonstrations and development tests as required on the full range of Delapena Honing machines at Delapena and at customers:
Ensuring Hone Trial Request forms are filled in for every application. (where applicable).
Updating of Applications Priority list.
Communicating with Customers and Sales team to give progress updates.
Completion of Hone test reports.
Compiling Case study forms.
Assisting Sales and Engineering departments with Feasibility reviews.
Assistance with creation of Training Manuals.
Training customers to Operate and Set Delapena Honing machines. (Domestic and International)
Site visits to Customers premises for Training / Commissioning or Problem resolutions. (Domestic and International)
Involvement/Management of R+D projects to further Delapena expertise in Honing.
Involvement/Management of Abrasive development trials.
Liaise with customer, distributor or agent on honing applications.
Give technical support to the sales desk as required
Manufacture or modify fixtures and tools as required.
Commission new honing machines in the UK and internationally.
Tooling development trials.
Working closely with customers, distributors and agents to develop effective honing solutions. This is a varied and hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a globally recognised engineering business.
Travel Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, regular travel to customer premises within the UK and internationally is a fundamental requirement.
